چکیده
Abstract Calcium ions are involved in plant self-incompatibility response as important signaling substances cells. In the sporophytic response, Ca 2+ enters stigma papilla cells and plays a key role inhibiting incompatible pollen tube growth. gametophytic reaction of Papaveraceae, female determinants style ( PrsS ) male PrpS recognize each other, promote extracellular influx into tube, destroy calcium ion gradient at tip inhibit S-RNase-based Rosaceae game-tophytic it is still unclear how S-RNase interacts with determinant specifically degrades RNA tube. Therefore, we reviewed research progress on and, based our results, proposed model signal substance gametophyte Rosaceae.

Gametophytic Self-Incompatibility in Petunia
Gametophytic self-incompatibility (GSI), which prevents growth of a pollen tube through the style, provides a means of preventing self-pollination. Seen in most eudicot plant families, GSI in the genus Petunia was described by Darwin in the 19th century. By the time the first edition of this monograph was published in 1984, nearly a century later, most of the readily observable phenomena associ...
متن کاملLoss of gametophytic self-incompatibility with evolution of inbreeding depression.
Gametophytic self-incompatibility (SI) in plants is a widespread mechanism preventing self-fertilization and the ensuing inbreeding depression, but it often evolves to self-compatibility. We analyze genetic mechanisms for the breakdown of gametophytic SI, incorporating a dynamic model for the evolution of inbreeding depression allowing for partial purging of nearly recessive lethal mutations by...
متن کاملOn the evolution of genetic incompatibility systems. VI. A three-locus modifier model for the origin of gametophytic self-incompatibility.
Recent genetic analyses have demonstrated that self-incompatibility in flowering plants derives from the coordinated expression of a system of loci. To address the selective mechanisms through which a genetic system of this kind evolves, I present a three-locus model for the origin of gametophytic self-incompatibility. Conventional models assume that a single locus encodes all physiological eff...
متن کاملGametophytic Self-Incompatibility: A Mechanism for Self/Nonself Discrimination during Sexual Reproduction.
Various mechanisms in flowering plants have evolved to prevent the tendency of self-fertilization created by close proximity of male and female reproductive organs in a perfect flower. One such mechanism, called self-incompatibility (SI), allows the pistil of a plant to reject self pollen or pollen from genetically related individuals, thus preventing inbreeding and promoting outcrosses. Geneti...
